It’s very rare that I write a review as short as this! And this one is gonna be short! No point in having a long, meandering review for something this good!
Kick-Ass = Young guy who wants to be a super hero. Buys wetsuit online, becomes half arsed super hero. In between half arsed super hero activities he meets proper super heroes, Big Daddy and Hit Girl. Big mob guy’s son get’s involved and dresses as half arsed, cool looking super hero called Red Mist, trying to entrap Kick-Ass and to let Daddy avenge losses of his “work” colleagues. Mix in great dialogue, a story with huge heart, a dollop or 2 of emotion that may induce tears and bonkers violence and you get a movie that is incredibly fresh!
It’s true to the comic book for the most part, granted the finale has changed a bit and the violence, more so the blood has been toned way down and on the rare occasion it might get a little slow for a minute or 2, but that aside Kick-Ass entertains big time!
One of the movies of the year, with some great performances, in particular Chloe Moretz is outstanding!!! Leave your brain at the door, get your ass kicked and buy a wetsuit!!!!
