Cary Elwes (Saw 3D) is going to be voicing the role of George Harrison next year in a 3D motion captured reinvention of that old cartoon, which some yield as a classlic, Yellow Submarine. Robert Zemeckis is on directorial duties and besides Elwes, Paul McCartney will be voiced by Peter Serafinowicz (the voice of Darth Maul), Ringo will be voiced by Adam Campbell and John Lennon will get the vocal treatment by Dean Lennox Kelly (FAQ About Time Travel). The movie will be a mo-cap event so the actors will not only be voicing their roles, they will also be performing them as well.
Personally I never saw the original flick, and truth be told I have zero interest in going to see this. While I like the Beatles music, I wouldn’t class myself as a fan and I wonder, in particular, how many Beatles fans will look upon this as sacrilege and scream from the roof tops. Or, maybe they’ll welcome it with open arms.
