No Goose cooking recipes here, but Tony Scott who is doing the rounds at the moment for his runaway train flick, Unstoppable ,has been speaking about the follow up to Top Gun. Scott says that the movie will not be a remake or a reinvention, but will examine the quantum developments in military tech since the first film, and deal with the end of the era of the fighter pilots. And Scott’s interest in making the sequel lies with a chance encounter with a military test pilot on a plane. "These kids sit in a trailer in Nevada," explains Scott, "and if we ever went to war, these guys would actually be flying the drones: the unmanned aircraft. They operate them like they're playing war games, and then they party all night! Their world fascinated me because it's so different from what it was originally."
No script, no nothing as of yet, but Scott will start doing some work on the sequel shortly.
