AVATAR, directed, produced and written by renowned film maker James Cameron, has become the number one film of all time at the Irish box office, having surpassed previous record holder TITANIC this weekend, with total box office earnings for the Republic Of Ireland and Northern Ireland reaching €9,747,390 to date. AVATAR is already the highest grossing film in box office history worldwide.
TITANIC, also directed, produced and written by James Cameron and released 12 years ago on 23rd January, 1998, is now the second highest grossing film of all time in the Republic Of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with a lifetime box office total of €9,581,702. MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit of 2008, is the third highest grossing film of all time with a lifetime box office of €8,053,287.
