The wonderful Peter Graves has donned his captain’s outfit and flown off into the big, blue yonder. During a career which saw him start as a radio announcer at 16 and ended up in Hollywood and really hit the big time when he starred in Mission Impossible, the TV show as Jim Phelps. And, what I really remember him for was Airplane, as Captain Clarence Oveur. Peter will be missed and unfortunately a true icon has moved on!
Captain Oveur: You ever been in a cockpit before?
Joey: No sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
Captain Oveur: You ever seen a grown man naked?
