Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (the 4th Pirates flick) is going to have ease back on the spending. It’s part of a scaling back program by Rich Ross, the new Disney chairman. According to the LA Times there will be a few hundred LESS effects shots, the shoot will be 50 days shorter than the last Pirates movie and it’s already lost a very expensive scene which would have seen London’s river Thames frozen solid. Look out for the “cheap” On Stranger Tides from June 2011!
