At The Mountains of Madness. Guillermo Del Toro and some fella called James Cameron are combining their collective weight for At The Mountains of Madness which is the old H.P.Lovecraft book, and yes it was also inspiration for a Simpsons episode where Homer and Mr.Burns were trapped in a cabin that was buried by an avalanche. But enough about that lot. The book is written in the first perspective by William Dyer who was a geologist. He tries to deter an expedition to Antarctica as a past trip there uncovered dangerous secrets and so on, namely unknown life forms discovered in a cave. So horror meets ET meets the X-Files meets, fuck knows!
Either way, Del Toro has been wanting to do this for quite some time and since his departure from The Hobbit he’s got a bit of time to do a few bits and now James Cameron is on board as well, so 3D will also be attached to the title!
