It was always going to happen. The entire Star Wars saga is turning up on Blu-Ray in 2011, speculation reckons Autumn 2011. Either way, it’s happening and it’s the special edition’s of the original trilogy that will feature as opposed to the original as Lucas reckons it would cost too much to convert the original, original’s to HD. And here’s me thinking he had a few quid!
The discs will be full to the brim of outakes, interviews, documentaries and so forth and a few deleted scenes, including the one down below (via Mashable). As a HD geek and a Star Wars geek this is damn good news! And no, I don’t care about the double dipping or funding the building of an extension to Skywalker ranch!
