Some interesting news for those eagerly anticipating the sequel to the craptacular Gavin Hood flick, Wolverine. Darren Aronofsky has confirmed to Hitfix.com that he will be directing a film titled "The Wolverine". Not only that, but his entry into the mutant saga will be stand alone, with no official ties to the previous film. If this idea is passed by 20th Century Fox, then colour me impressed, as it seemed for a while there like it would be shot down ala Aronofsky's Robocop. After months of speculation and debate, it'd be nice to see a intelligent, talented and mature director pick up the reins to a dying franchise and give it life once again...and who doesn't want to see Wolverine in Japan?
