Paramount Pictures has confirmed to The Wrap that Paranormal Activity 3 has been greenlit! Since the original film is now the most profitable studio picture in pretty much forever and the sequel grossed just over $153,000,000 at the box office, another entry into the franchise was inevitable. Paranormal Activity 2's director Tod Williams is said to be returning yet again and a release date has been set for October 21st, 2011. Looks like the franchise will be the go-to Halloween flick for Paramount for the next few years, unfortunately, probably turning it into a ridiculous cash-cow (I'm looking at you Saw 3D). Will this be related to the previous flicks? We'll have to wait and see.
