When Mad Mel isn't making the headlines, he's making movies and the trailer for his latest has just hit. The Beaver, directed by and co-starring Jodie Foster, centers around Walter (Gibson), who at a crisis point in his life, finds a discarded Beaver puppet and decides to use it as his sole means of communication. It's been shelved for some time now due to the controversies surrounding Mel, but it's finally got a release date for February 11th, 2011 here in Ireland.
Personally, when it comes to movies, I feel that these days unfortunately with celebrity magazines, etc, we've lost a lot of the mystique of actors and actresses. I never cared about who did what in their private lives as it's none of my business, so as an actor, yeah, I'm a fan of Mel Gibson's work. And this to me looks like a lighthearted, beautifully made and frankly hilarious little film.
