With the disaster that was the loss of Cork's Arthouse cinema, the Kino, I've often felt like the county had pretty much lost it's cinematic backbone. Sure, there's the annual film festival which continues to delight, but there's rarely anything to jump for. Nothing to screech with geeky glee for. But that's changed, thankfully. The newly opened drive-in cinema, Movie Junction (located in Carrigtwohill) has unveiled Classic Week. A week of true achievements in cinema, playing all week in a plush Drive-In cinema. The films scheduled to be shown are The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Grease, Cool Runnings and the cult classic Carrie.
