The New York Post just broke the story that the current hot property, James Franco is set to direct and star in a biopic of real life serial killer, Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker. The film will be an adaptation of the true-crime novel, 'The Night Stalker' by Philip Carlo. Franco is also said to be shooting the flick this summer. It's speculated the plot will cover how Ramirez became a monster (the real killer is actually still in prison). Producing reigns fall on singer Chris Cornell and the screenplay will be scribed by Nicholas Constantine.
Personally, while this is interesting, I've never been too into the whole serial killer biopics. Firstly, because they have the tendency to be completely and utterly shite and secondly, does Richard Ramirez deserve a film about his twisted occupation?
