Just the other day the first pic from X-Men: First Class appeared. And now, another few have turned up via the LA Times. Matthew Vaughan sounds under pressure “I’m at that stage where I feel like a boxer against the ropes,” the director said as his crew prepared for the next shot on a location set in Long Beach. “I’m just throwing punches and taking them as they come and making sure I don’t hit the canvas.” The Kick-Ass director went on to say that he has never been under so much time pressure. “The good thing about the independent world is I never even knew if I was going to get distribution. I’m used to finishing a film and then crossing your fingers that someone is going to like it. This is totally doing it the other way around. We’ve definitely got a release date and we’ve got to make it.”
Vaughan in my book has done wonderful stuff, particularly Kick-Ass, but I’m now wondering if the guy is under so much pressure, will the finished product suffer? There is alot riding on the new X-Men flick, which will be an origin story involving Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Xavier (James McEvoy), as the last outing left alot to be desired. X-Men: First Class arrives on June 3rd in year which see’s numerous Super hero movies hit the big screen, including the likes of Thor, Captain America and the Green Lantern I wonder will a sudden overload of superhero be a very risky gamble! Something's gotta give!!
Anyway, the pics…
