Roland Emmerich may not be blowing up anything in a sequel to Independence Day anytime soon. Last year rumour’s were floating that it was round 2 with the aliens, but Emmerich has been speaking to Empire and said “Independence Day 2 is nowhere. It’s back and forth, back and forth. There’s no script because I don’t want to write anything before anything starts.” Emmerich went on to say that “One day it will happen”. As for when that day is? Well, your guess is as good as mine. Could a sequel to ID4 even be any good? Despite it making just under a billion dollars, we’ve gone through life without and maybe we might just survive. And, to boot, there’s no shortage of alien movies inbound either!!
