Variety got word today of four new actors joining the Keanu Reeves action epic, 47 Ronin. Joining The Matrix star is Hiroyuki Sanada (Sunshine, The Last Samurai), Tadanobu Asano (Ichi The Killer, Thor), Kou Shibasaki (Go, One Missed Call) and Rinko Kikuchi (The Brothers Bloom, Babel). The 3D production tells the story of a band of samurai who set out to avenge the death of their master in 18th century Japan. Variety also states that Universal Pictures is treating this as a highly important project and a hopeful tentpole picture for their 2012 slate. It'll be interesting to see all these factors come together; 3D, a huge budget, Keanu Reeves' return and a large Japanese cast. Consider me intrigued, what about you? Let us know below!
