The teaser for Marcus Nispel's (Friday The 13th, Pathfinder) reboot of Conan The Barbarian has hit, over at Yahoo!. While the teaser is kind of neat, it's this type of trailer that's increasingly frustrating. In the 70's and 80's, teaser trailers would rarely carry actual footage from the film. Instead, they'd have the usual voice over and some images or shots that point to what the film will be. But these days, studios use teasers to make the general audience aware the film is being made, to build hype I should say. But this trailer just seems awkward, almost like they just haven't finished some 'awesome', big CGI shot to show us. From what I can tell it's made up of smoke and embers with photos of Jason Mamoa as Conan, swinging a sword around. I did dig the line, "I live, I love, I slay and I am contempt", though.
Anyway, enough of my jabbering, check the trailer below! Conan The Barbarian hits Irish cinemas in 3D, August 19th in 3D.
