Latino Review has confirmed today that the suits in Universal have officially offered Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Avengers), the lead in Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy. Gilroy's entry into the action franchise will see Renner play a Jason Bourne-like character (not actually Jason Bourne himself), but the film will be set in the same universe as the previous trilogy. Principal photography begins in September for a August 3rd, 2012 release date. If Renner accepts the role, I'll start paying attention to this spin-off.
