I'm without a doubt a big pro-3D person. I loved Avatar, and when you think of that as basically the genesis for the new technology, it can only get better from here. Sure, the post-converted movies that have followed have all looked pretty shoddy but that was bound to happen, and I'm very confident that 3D will find it's place and really start to work brilliantly in future. Arguably, Transformers 3 is the next big step for the 3D blockbuster. Yes, it's not the first movie since Avatar to be shot in 3D, but it is directed by Michael Bay, who needed convincing from Jim Cameron himself to do it and is now a fully paid-up convert. Not only is it a movie that lends itself to the medium, but some of the technology used is brand new and very exciting. With that in mind, you might want to take a look at this chat between the two big time directors on the very topic of 3D - it's worth noting Cameron's comparison of 3D to cars.
