For lovers of cinema everywhere; Danny Boyle has selected his next feature. The 127 Hours director will helm Trance, an "art heist gone wrong" thriller that will begin principal photography in London this September. Deadline has learned the film will include the "dark, sexy, hard-edged tone of Boyle films like Shallow Grave and Trainspotting". Deadline also includes an interesting fact. Boyle is set to direct the opening ceremony for the Olympics in 2012. Which means that he'll shoot Trance this year, then direct the Olympics, and then return to edit his thriller in autumn 2012 for a 2013 release. Knowing that now, I'm blown away the man is willing to shoot his next film in such a short time frame, drop it only to return to it months later. It could certainly be seen as a positive thing, as Boyle must be very keen on the script if he wants to shoot so soon.
