Never a shortage of stuff to talk about when there’s a new Tarantino on the way. Well, I say ‘on the way’ but really it’s quite far off. Despite the recent buzz about casting and the script being in circulation for ages, Django Unchained won’t actually hit cinemas until December 25th, 2012 – Christmas Day. It’s the perfect gift for all the family!
That, it should be noted, is the US date – expect it to open on the 26th over on these shores, as is custom. Still a long wait though. I had hoped he’d do another relatively fast turnaround with this one, after he announced Inglourious Basterds at Cannes and premiered it there the following year. Still, if it means more time to get the movie right then I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Until then, look forward to lots more casting rumours and hopefully some talk from the man himself on how he’ll incorporate the inevitable homages into Django.
