No, that’s not a wild rumour and yes, it’s true and properly confirmed! Spike Lee’s next Joint is going to be a remake of the Korean revenge movie.
It’s been in the works for ages, with every director alive rumoured to take it on – no surprise either, considering the quality of the original, which sees a man seek revenge (bloody revenge) after being locked up for 15 years. Upon release it won the jury prize at Cannes and received huge acclaim so it’s a big project to take on and remake, but I’d imagine that’s part of the appeal for Lee. What do you make of this move?
