Never a dull moment in Disney/Marvel land now it seems. They’ve had a great year with Thor and Capn’ America, and next year is, of course, the big one. But now gradually we’re learning what’s next for them post-Avengers.
Slashfilm report that Disney have allocated May 16 and June 24 2013 for Marvel movies. What could they be though? Well, lets look at the facts:
*Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 will be released in 2013 – confirmed.
*Captain America did big business so a sequel is almost a guarantee now.
*Marvel are actively developing movies for Dr. Strange, S.H.I.E.L.D, Ant Man and Black Widow.
What do you think? The Avengers cast are all signed for six movies minimum – allowing three Avengers and three standalones films. It goes without saying that if/when Avengers makes a tonne of cash they’ll go for a sequel, so that could indeed be the May date – two years after release.
Also, it’s almost certain one of the dates is a sequel for Captain America – they won’t want to wait too long to get it out and 2013 is already full. Of the new projects, Ant-Man is allegedly the most far along. So there’s a strong chance that we’ll be seeing Captain 2 and possibly Ant-Man or Avengers 2 in 2014……pretty exciting, yes?
