Die Hard 5 will be directed by John Moore, 20th Century Fox's favourite puppet. Deadline got word that Bruce Willis and the studio finalized their selection this week, choosing the Max Payne director for his knowledge of how to shoot action practically. Die Hard 5 is set to begin principal photography within the next 6 months, with the plot this time centering around McClane getting caught up in a terrorist plot in Russia. No other details are available at present.
So yeah, I'm thinking Die Hard purists are probably furious right now, seeing their beloved super-cop leave the United States. As much as I love the series (and yes, I even enjoy Die Hard 4.0) frankly I'm more concerned about Moore helming the production. Sure, The Omen and Max Payne look fantastic, but they're ultimately empty films.
