Some might say this isn't exactly movie news, as unfortunately, this does happen in Hollywood. But it's my personal opinion that stuntman were, are and will continue to be just as important to a movie as it's primary actors*. So it's sad to hear that a stuntman has died on set of The Expendables 2 in Bulgaria, with another in critical condition. The accident occurred when the film's 2nd unit team were filming an explosion scene 15 miles from Bulgaria's capital of Sofia. Director Simon West & Sylvester Stallone were not present at the time. Millennium Films released a press statement that reads, "It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident". Sad news, indeed. On a side note, it feels like The Expendables 2 is plagued with problems lately, firstly, writer (and director of the first film) Sylvester Stallone is being sued by a screenwriter in Hollywood for plagiarism and now this.
