Bradley Cooper drops out of Man from U.N.C.L.E. talks.
The star from the “Hangover” had been in talks to play Napoleon Solo in the upcoming big screen version from Warner Bros. of “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” But will not be playing the role, the movie which is being directed by Steven Soderbergh is based on the popular television show originally starring Robert Vaughn. Cooper had been favoured to play the character Napoleon Solo which Vaughn made famous. As with the original television series the movie is to be set in the 1960’s. The studio is also looking to recruit an actor for Solo’s partner originally played by David McCallum in the TV series.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ryan Gosling are rumoured to be under consideration for Solo’s partner Illya Kullyakin as is Alexander Skarsgard from hit TV show “True Blood”. For now it seems the studio has no leading man, Cooper is currently filming “The Silver Linings Playbook” alongside Robert De Niro.
