Tom Hanks has been offered a role in the political thriller Patriot Down. It is not yet confirmed if he will undertake the role as Liam Neeson is also in competition for this picture.
The film is set to be about the president being left to fend for himself as Airforce One is gunned down over Pakistan. The President is then in the position where he is on the run and on his own.
It would be nice to see Hanks in such a role, having such a long career he has shown a great deal of potential for a role like this. He has the air of being so down to earth he could lead a country. He has shown he is very adept to be the older, more intellectual “hero” in roles such as Angels and Demons, also his flair for survival in Cast Away. It is surprising he has not undertaken such a role previously, but it looks to be an interesting show!
