Well since Eddie Muprhy is gone, who should now host next years Oscars? I guess the obvious choices spring to mind, like Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, even Wolverine. But isn't that all a little bit predictable? After all these are people who have hosted many times before (ok, obvious exception the dude with the steel claws) and I believe people want something different from the Academy Awards.
And while there is a plethora of prestige with the Oscars, it surely is time to loosen the tie and take it off. It's quite obvious that over the years the tie has been loosened a little bit and the ceremony has got less stuffy and righteous as it once was. But trying to hook in a younger audience is key (as it is in Hollywood period) and while Wolverine has a good shot at that, it's not enough. Surely the Oscar folk must look at the Golden Globes of the past few years and wish to have something similar, at least in context and accessibility.
Don't get me wrong, I think all the above hosts are absolutely wonderful, but it's time to rock the boat. So do I have any other suggestions as who should take on the hosting duties. I do as a matter of fact. And my suggestion personifies the following traits...
Hollywood Royalty
Iconic Status
Loved by all demographics, from 6 to 60+
Perfect Timing
Incredibly sense of timing and delivery
Can sing and dance if needs be
To host the 84th Academy Awards, I'm backing THE MUPPETS!
