Reports have surfaced that the big screen version of the very brilliant 24 will begin shooting in 2012, it’s been nearly a year since news broke of problems with the script which seemed to put the production in doubt. Not alot has been heard of the proposed project since then but fans will be hoping that plans come to fruition and we will see Jack Bauer back on our screens. Talks have been on and off for a very long time with cast commitments another issue, in addition to this it was not sure what direction the plot should take as the series had ended. Sutherland himself was quoted as saying: “ It’s a very difficult thing to take something that you’ve done for eight years and almost 200 episodes, and try and find a story that’s going to be unique and yet also service the history of the show." Sutherland had envisaged that the project could be up and running in early 2012 and now that looks like happening. The search for a director continues but Brian Grazer has been confirmed to be producing Sutherland is expected to have an opening in his schedule in April so shooting could theoretically begin around then. Watch this space, a countdown could be on....
