Upcoming Princess Diana biopic Caught In Flight has secured it's Princess of Wales with the announcement that J. Edgar star Naomi Watts will take on the lead role. The Help's Jessica Chastain was originally tipped for the role.
German director Oliver Hirschbiegel, best know for chronicling Hilter's last days in Downfall, will helm the film. It will chart the last two years of the royal's life as she grows into her role as an international campaigner and humanitarian.
Caught In Flight isn't the only Diana biopic in the works. A rival project, based on the controversial book Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, is also in development. This film reportedly sheds light on the princess's more "cunning" and "lethal" side. No cast has been attached, but Charlize Theron and Carey Mulligan have both been linked to the role of Diana, while Ewan McGregor is tipped to play he bodyguard Ken Wharfe.
