The Sylvester Stallone action vehicle The Tomb has received another shot of testosterone with the confirmation that action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has joined the cast.
The film, directed by Mikael Hafstrom (The Rite, Derailed), follows structural security expert Ray Breslin as he is falsely imprisoned in a master prison he designed. Once inside, he must use all his knowledge and survival skills to escape. Schwarzenegger plays Church, a prisoner who fights to keep his fellow inmates from losing their humanity. So far it sounds very close to a 90's action movie. Looks like they got the right cast anyway.
This will mark the third time Schwarzenegger and Stallone have worked together, after the Austrian's brief cameo in The Expendables, which is being expanded on in The Expendables 2. Schwarzenegger has just finished shooting Jeen-woon Kim's The Last Stand, the first film he signed on for since leaving political office.
The Tomb will start shooting in Louisiana this spring. No release date has being given.
