Both starting their careers on T.V. show Saturday Night Live, Dan Aykroyd and Chevy are two of the finest comedians from the 80's. They have teamed up on numerous occassions, most notably John Landis's Spies Like Us, but the last time they appeared on screen together was 1991's Nothing But Trouble. Now, speaking on his Facebook page, Aykroyd has announced the pair are working on script for an untitled comedy:
Chevy (Chase) and I are about to start work on a script concept for a comedy movie. Cannot say too much about the concept, but the joy of working with him again is one that I am extremely excited about. Chevy is one of my favourite people, and one of the great anarchistic and physically committed comedians in the business.
There are no more details on the project, but more are expected as the script starts to take shape. I amd quite excited for this one. While Aykroyd's recent roles are suspect (Yogi Bear), he hasn't lost any of what has made him great and his real strength lies in script writing. Chase, on the other hand, has come back in a big way, thanks to his role as Pierce Hawthorne in T.V. show Community. With these two actors bringing their A game, this project could be very special indeed.
