Seeing that found footage super hero movie Chronicle, released at the start of February has currently earned $105 million off it's $15 million budget in the world wide box office, it is no surprise that a sequel is being planned with the originals writer Max Landis, son of director John Landis (Trading Places, An American Werewolf In London) signing on to write. There is no word if director Josh Tank will return, having being associated with a number of projects, including the planned spin off from Spider-Man, Venom.
The original, which featured a group of teenagers struggling with newly discovered super powers, was very well written, and really felt like a big screen comic book. My only criticism, and one shared by a number of people is that it could have worked just as well without the found footage gimmick, something I hope is taken into account for the sequel.
