Michael Bay is involved with a reboot (or whatever) of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and invariably there has been a bit of a backlash when it was hinted that it might be more Turtles from space, than anything else. And to his credit, Bay his got out his keyboard (or his assistant has) and said the following
“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”
You gotta give the dude credit for interacting with the fanboys and keeping his finger somewhat on the pulse. All that said, who’s making the movie? Bay or the fanboys! While I appreciate that people feel strongly about franchises etc. save the rioting and moaning for something worthwhile. For god sake people, we might get to see some sewers blown sky high!
