Combining a mixture of practical effects, for the transformations, and CGI, the bad guy role in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot The Amazing Spider-Man will be filled by the Lizard, a half man/half lizard creature brought on by science gone wrong (isn't that always the way?). The villain's human alter ego, Dr. Curt Connor's is played by Rhys Ifans, and the movie's approach to bring the character to life has been met with a lot of objection from fans.
Early footage shown of the movie at last year's San Diego Comic Con got lots of fan boys talking with The Lizard looking more like Batman villain Killer Croc mixed with The Hulk than the comics portrayal of a huge reptile walking on two legs. Matters weren't helped by the first look at the character was done through the medium of PEZ dispensers. Now that we get to see the creature in the newest trailer, he doesn't look half bad, but shots of him are dominated by quick cuts and lots of shadows so it's hard to get a proper look at him. Now, a promotional wall poster has been released that gives a real clear look at the reptilian villain. Still looks like a dodgy effect, but kinda cool as well.
