I had a lot of fun with Brendan Fraser starring The Mummy films, Universal's action adventure re-thread of their classic horror property. While not the smartest films around, they were goofy fun and you could always rely on them for some jaw dropping special effects. Now word has broken that Universal are rebooting their reboot, with writer John Spaihts being brought on to script a new version of the film. Spaihts is co-writer on Prometheus with Damon Lindeloff, and sole writer on The Darkest Hour. There is no word on the direction to be taken with the new film, whether it will continue in the Indiana Jones-esque adventure mould, or go back to the series' horror roots.
