I loved The Expendables. Yeah, it was over the top, cheesy, and sometimes the acting left a lot to be desired, but it was a great slice of fun action not seen since the 80's. And seeing all the big action stars sharing the screen had me smiling from ear to ear. So of course, I'm looking forward to The Expendables 2 this year. Director Simon West (Con Air, The Mechanic) takes the reigns from Sylvester Stallone, and the original cast will be returning with Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris joining them in a movie that promises to be as over the top, cheesy, and fun as the original.
And as the below picture confirms Sly will be sharing screen time again with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, reprising their roles of Barney Ross, Mr. Church and Trench respectively. While their scene in the original amounted to nothing more that 5 minutes of exposition, the sequel promises to show audiences what made these actors famous: firing big guns and shouting funny quips.
Synopsis: Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat.
Released: 17th August 2012 (U.S./U.K./IRE)
