Robert Rodriguez's Machete had some curious casting choices, with Steven Segal, Robert De Niro, Don Johnson, and Lindsey Lohan, and that trend seems to continue with Charlie Sheen joining the cast as the President of the United States (something I only thought his father, Martin, did) for the sequel, Machete Kills. He joins fellow new cast member Mel Gibson, who plays the film's bad guy, Luther Voz.
The sequel will see Danny Trejo's titular Mexican hard man hired by the U.S. government to stop Voz, a crazed arms dealer, from launching a weapon into space. Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez also reprise their roles from the original. No release date has been given as of yet.
