Last night in London saw the long awaited and highly anticipated premier of The Amazing Spiderman. The cast including main man Andrew Garfield who plays the hero were joined by director (and appropriately named) Marc Webb. The reboot sees a teenage Peter Parker played by Garfield who brings a more street wise presence and energy to the character than Tobey Maguire's portrayal. Many have questioned the wisdom of a reboot when it isn’t that long ago since Sam Rami's trilogy left our screens. That said, it will still be eagerly awaited so expect a splurge at the box office. The story centres naturally on Peter Parker’s beginnings and features Rhys Ifans who plays Dr. Curt Connors who worked with Peter’s now deceased father. The cast also includes stalwarts Sally Field and Martin Sheen who play Uncle Ben and Aunt Mae.
Spiderman will be swinging into cinemas in July.
