And the saga of Ghostbusters 3 continues. Dan Ackroyd has been trying to get the movie off the ground for years now, but the project seemed to be dead when Bill Murray, who the movie getting made seemed to hinge on, said he wouldn't return. Then, during an appearance on The David Letterman show, he did a u-turn and said he would be up for it if he felt the script was up to scratch. Now, Dan Ackroyd has revealed a new writing has come onboard, though he didn't reveal who would be replacing the original writing team of Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (Year One, Bad Teacher), saying, "It's got to be perfect. That's the whole thing. There's no point in doing it unless it's perfect. So that's what we're up to now".
I'm glad the project isn't dead, but it has been planned for over 20 years, it has gone through numerous re-writes (a script Ackroyd wrote in the 90's was later modified for use in the Ghostbusters video game), if it is properly going ahead it would be nice to hear something concrete.
