Just over a month ago we reported that Lost and Prometheus writer Damon Lindlelof had been drafted in to pen a new ending to the upcoming Brad Pitt zombie flick, World War Z. While Lindlelof reportedly developed a new ending for the picture, Deadline are now reporting that it is, in fact, Lindlelof’s Lost co-writer, Drew Goddard that will be brought in to write the films new third act.
Those unfamiliar with Goddard will recognise his recent, impressive offerings such as Cloverfield and The Cabin in the Woods. Incidentally he has also penned Steven Spielberg’s next directorial outing, Robopocolypse.
Despite the films legitimately chequered production, fans needn’t lose all hope just yet. The director, Marc Forster is a talented filmmaker. It is based on a fantastic book by Max Brooks, with a unique retrospective outlook at the resistance against a zombie apocalypse and it boasts a solid cast lead by Brad Pitt. Let’s wait and see.
Synopsis: A U.N. employee is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic.
