Director David O. Russel's first film since 2010's The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook is based on the novel by Matthew Quick, and follows a former teacher with readjusting to life after a stint in a mental institution.
Written by Russel, the movie is billed as a comedy, and while I first thought the idea of making light of mental illness was in bad taste, the trailer does show some real heart in between the laughs. Couple that with some great talent, including Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro, and the usual solid direction from Russel, this is one to watch out for.
