Filming has started on James Mongold's X-Men spin off The Wolverine with Picton, New South Wales standing in for a small Canadian town, and Hugh Jackman sporting quite a different look for the feral mutant. Filming is expected to continue in Australia for a few more weeks, before moving to Japan, and finishing in November.
The new film will find Logan in Japan after the events of the first movie, where he finds himself going up against a powerful family after falling in love with the wrong woman. It is said to borrow heavily from Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's classic 1982 limited series. The film also stars Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, and Will Yun Lee.
A release date is set for July 26th 2013.
