The Lego movie is gathering steam and the latest addition to the plastic block-buster (see what I did there?) is Morgan Freeman. The Warner Bros. movie will land brick by brick on February 28th and sees the likes of Will Arnett play Lego Batman. The Lego videogame franchise has been hugely popular, not to mention filling up bank accounts so it was only natural that a movie would land on the big screen. The games were funny at times, and if the movie keeps some of that attitude, Warner could be onto a winner, and considering its been written by the duo that wrote 21 Jump Street, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, I’d be expecting nothing more that hilarity.
Elizabeth Banks is also pencilled in to lend her lungs and vocal talents to the animated movie. Nothing is known of her character, but Freeman is rumoured to be playing Vitruvius who was a Roman writer, architect and engineer (one quick google later).
Synopsis: An ordinary Lego mini-figure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.
Released: February 28th 2014 (USA)
