Captain America: The Winter Soldier adds a new hero

A big time supporting player in the Capatin America comics for some time now, Sam Wilson, also know as Falcon, comics first main-stream African-American super hero, will be making the jump to the big screen for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Equipped with a wing harness that grants him the power of flight, and possessing the ability to telepathically communicate with his pet falcon, Redwing, Falcon played a big role in the comic book arc that the sequel is based on.

Anthony Mackie, best known for his role in The Hurt Locker, will be portraying the character in the new movie, viewing the role as "an honour". Not much is known on whether the role, or the story, will differ from the comics, as the script is yet to be seen by anyone. Expect that to change as we near the movies March shooting date.

Based on the acclaimed Ed Brubaker written run, and following on from The Avengers, the Russo Brothers directed movie will have Cap come face to face with his former partner, Bucky (Sebastian Stan), now transformed into the Russian controlled assassin The Winter Soldier.
