Originally planned for two movies, It was a surprise to many people that Peter Jackson's The Hobbit was stretched to a trilogy, with much of the filming already wrapped. Just goes to show the director's passion for the project, and wealth of material available in J.R.R. Tolkien's classic book. The third installment, There And Back Again, has been earmarked for release on 18th of July 2014, meaning only a wait of seven months between that and the second film, now retitled The Desolation Of Smaug, released on the 13th of December 2013. The trilogy begins this year with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on December 14th.
Synopsis: A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug.
