Coming from Payback and A Knights Tale director Brian Helgeland, 42 tells the true life story of Jackie Robinson, who in 1947 became the first black man to play Major League Baseball since the 1880's when he debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Chadwick Boseman stars as Robinson, and he is surrounded by an impressive cast that includes Harrison Ford, as Dodgers team executive Branch Rickey, Christopher Meloni, and Alan Tudyk.
I do have a soft spot for baseball movies, brought on by Field Of Dreams and Major League, and this promises bring some strong drama, and performances our way.
