Reports In Tinsletown suggest that the directors of the upcoming Captain America sequel entitled Captain America: Winter Soldier have drawn up a shortlist of actresses to play the female lead. So the list is as follows: Emilia Clarke, (Game of Thrones) Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and Alison Brie (The Five Year Engagement).
Pure speculation at this point obviously but the list is sure to provoke plenty of reaction from fans. All the actresses fit the criteria of up and coming actresses who have a certain niche in the market. A lead role in a project of this scale is sure to see their respective stars on the rise.
Assuming that the chosen actress will indeed as expected play a love interest, then they will have a tough act to follow in the shape of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) who played her.
