Ever since it was announced that the X-Men: First Class sequel would feature scenes set in a future timeline, rumours have run rampant that cast members from the original X-Men trilogy would reprise their roles. Now director Bryan Singer has put some of those rumours to rest when he went to twitter to announce that the original Magneto and Professor X, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, were returning to the X-fold.
While much of the movie will be set in the past with the First Class cast, it is unknown if the old guard will come face to face with young whippersnappers Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. But even the prospect of this is beyond exciting. While Singer has promised more announcements, it is unknown who else from the original movies will return, but Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) have expressed an interest. As always, when we hear more, you'll hear more.
