If you had your way. Ok, ok, it’s a cruel headline I know, but the votes are in for who you thought should direct Star Wars Episode VII. And with 22.95% of the votes, Joss Whedon comes to the top of YOUR list for who should the next Star Wars movie.
No doubt one of the reasons Whedon has come to the top of this wish list is that he has certainly gained huge loyalty and trust from movie fans. We know the dude can do the sci-fi as Serenity springs to mind and of course he was entrusted with The Avengers this year, and everybody loved it. Granted the fanboys would have torn this planet to fuckin’ pieces if he got that wrong. And considering Joss Whedon credits the Millennium Falcon as one of his inspirations for Firefly, you know the franchise would be in seriously good hands.
Chances of Episode VII being directed by Whedon are…well…not good. He’s busy directing some playboy, billionaire, philanthropist and a bunch of other individuals including some big green rage machine in The Avengers 2. Still though, we can hold onto some hope for Episode VIII. Come to think of it, considering Disney own both franchises now, how about some crossover from The Avengers? A Hulk vs Chewie could be rather awesome. Granted, Chewie needs to drop that fuckin’ crossbow and start using his paws! Anyway, I digress..
The Top 5 in our poll looks like this…
1. Joss Whedon
2. Brad Bird
3.Christopher Nolan
4. Lars Von Trier (SERIOUSLY!) / David Fincher
5. Jon Favreau / Quentin Tarantino
Thanks to everybody who voted.
